This class is offered Monday-Friday for students aged 5-10.
Half day 5-day enrollment (8:30-12:30) is available for students who are 5 or 6 and is $700/month.
Full day enrollment (8:30-2:30) is available for any child over 5 and tuition is $1200/month.
The curriculum for the 5-10 year old full day class will be comprehensive and allow for lots of time for children to explore their world. The class will always have an Orton-Gillingham (OG) trained lead teacher. The literacy program will follow the OG model in addition to project based learning. Here is more information about OG. Here is more information about Project Based Learning. For math we will use Wild Math curriculum with a combination of common core standards for each grade level. We will follow an environmental/earth, place based science and social emotional curriculum that includes communication skills, meditation, positive self talk and more.
Here is a sample schedule of the day:
8:30-9:00 Welcome, morning journal prompt, check in and open learning stations, small group for older students and students needing extra help
9:00 Morning meeting
9:30-10:30- First Language/Math block (small group work with instructor including guided reading groups, journal work, phonics, and individual leveled math and language practice)
10:30-11:30 Bathroom break, Play structure, lunch
11:30–12:30 – Second Language/Math Block (small group work with instructor including guided reading groups, journal work, phonics, and individual leveled math and language practice)
12:00-12:45 – Social Emotional, Yoga, Music, Gardening, Games
12:45-1:00- Story, Snack
1:15-2:00- Science/Social Studies block
2:00-2:15 Clean up/Quiet Reading
2:15-2:30 Closing circle
